Boerne Rod Run

We started out our weekend walking the Boerne Rod Run today.

It is so much fun to see all the cars – Ron and I like such different cars.  I would love – love – love

an old Ford truck.  I have such amazing memories of growing up riding around with my grandpa in

his truck – maybe not a ford but that is my choice of vehicles.  Ron – he likes near anything two

tone painted.  Hope you enjoy the pics as much as we enjoyed seeing them.

Afterwards we came home and with a bit of light rain and cooler temps I had the NEED to bake….. lemon poppy seed

scones and semi sweet chocolate chip cookies.   This evening we enjoyed a fabulous jeep ride in the country.

Now I must show off my sweet grand dogs – are they not the cutest.

This afternoon I also did my first two blocks of the new quilting year for $5.00 quilt club.  I have chosen these two color themes for

two different quilts     One is an Amish and the other teal/brown/ivory/white.   The quilt shop picks the patterns and colors

you just need to finish each month and come back with homework completed for that month.  The first month is always

the simplest – then game on.   My love for the Amish colors will make this year even more special.  Growing up in Iowa

we saw many a buggy and Amish families.

A quick run to big D

Ron and I made a quick run up to Dallas (Lewisville) to love on and celebrate early Jennifer & Ron’s birthday.

We did a little shopping, relaxing and eating….and Barrett made Ron’s favorite beverage when visiting

their home.  The birthday cake of choice was a iced Cookie Company Cookie.  Jen is modeling her

new blanket for the couch to cuddle with.
