I finally got a weekend to finish up the jeep. After weeks of cleaning and preparing parts I finally started reassembling. Installing the head was back breaking but I had no son or son in-laws to help! After three attempts I finally got it set in place.
The next big challenge were the manifolds. I spent two hours messing with the EGR tube. It’s not right but it is what it is and it works.
Once I got the carbonator on and hooked up, I filled the radiator only to find a leak in the gasket on the thermostat. That was really the only hiccup mom climbed in and started it and it fired up the first time.
After finishing all the details I removed the top, washed the jeep and we took it for a ride.
victory I celebrated with lemon berry cream slush from Sonic. Done !!!! on to the next project
