Sunday Country Ride

Sunday afternoon Ron and I decided to take an 80 mile ride in the hill country – from my favorite

quilt shop in Kerrville Creations to one of his favorite fishing spots James Kiehl Park.    New bridges

are being built there so we had to hike in a bit to stroll around.

The winter always brings about new vision to the landscape - with the trees

naked you can see so much further around each bend.  This is the Guadalupe

River known for great kayaking, fishing and tubing.

the below picture is in July when our drought was so bad – Ron could walk

right down the middle of the river – but the trees were lush and green

Matt & Jenny cooking away

Jennifer and Matt spent the last two nights he was in town cooking away having fun and creating.   While Grandpa  and I stayed clear of the kitchen

and Barrett & Ron joining us after  work we enjoyed a wonderful meal.   Here are some of the photos of the process of roasted veggies & chicken

Then after full tummies Matt & Jen sat down to interview Grandpa Kohl about his life -  Barrett, Ron and I listened in -   how fun was this and wow did we learn a lot.

the last two days we have headed to the airport sending home Grandpa Kohl and then yesterday Matt headed back to England.  The house

is all quiet now and life must get back to norm – what ever that is.   We enjoyed having everyone so much – thank you for sharing your life's

with us here in San Antonio.  Happy New Year to all.
