Our last day in Oxford, UK
We enjoyed our last day walking & touring around Oxford. First stop Magdalen College
another amazing college with a courtyard that goes on for ever and ever. The arches, doors,
flowers, windows, chapels all just breath taking.
Beverage stop !! Good thing I am short since the pub ceilings are so low –
refreshed and ready for Christ Church also where Harry Potter was filmed.
one more stop - - -
back to the apartment to prepare dinner -
yes spoiled and loved every minute both Matt & Fi shared wonderful dishes and their talents in the
kitchen. Lastly we had the great joy that evening of meeting their good friends MC and Fiona. (no pic – sorry)
It was a perfect week and we thank you Matt & Fi.
Also thank you to the Stacer’s for keeping Maggie the first week
and our dear friends the tail end of the trip.
plus our sweet grandson who with momma’s help walked Maggie as well
A ride in the country side
What a joy to rent a car and spend the day journeying the country side. With Fi at the wheel
we headed northwest towards Kenilworth Castle.
The history of this place is amazing – some structures intact & some ruins . I tried to get pics
with size comparison. Matt was wondering all around getting his own shots which I look forward
to. A bit breezy and cool – perfect for trekking around
Notice Matt up there looking for the perfect shot
then off we went to The Clarendon Arms Kenilworth Pub for lunch
We routed a different direction back home towards Oxford via
a lovely little town called Burford. Would you take a look at those flowers.
We parked walked and stopped for a snack & hot tea. I loved this town. Next
time shopping is in store!!
It was a full day – time to return the rental and head back home.
Every night we were treated to amazing meals cooked by Matt & Fi.
We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon the day before with Fi’s mom (mum) and sister
at the Old Parsonage Hotel for a “proper tea”. Sadly I took no pictures so I am awaiting
Matt’s – maybe later some to share. It was fun eating tiny sandwiches & scones
